The Philosophy of 3D Raccoon Infiltration
In Dumpster Gang, thinking on a flat plane will get your gang captured within minutes. Human patrol paths, motion lights, and John's bear traps dominate the ground level. However, human architecture is rife with forgotten interstitial spaces: crawlspaces beneath porch decks, attics between ceiling rafters, metal air ducts, and rooftop pathways.
Mastering stealth routes turns hazardous, heavily guarded properties into porous playgrounds where your gang can move unseen, stash stolen loot, and vanish before guards realize what has been taken.
Learning these routes allows your squad to bypass choke points entirely, ferry valuables straight to the getaway cart, and escape when sirens begin wailing.
Architectural Shortcuts by Level
Each map features engineered stealth corridors hidden within the environment. Here are the primary shortcuts to exploit across the current maps:
1. Suburban House: The Ducts & Gutters Pipeline
- The Rain Gutter Superhighway: The copper downspout on the north corner connects the backyard patio directly to the second-story roof shingles. From here, you can drop through the master bathroom skylight directly into the upper hallway.
- The Kitchen HVAC Network: Behind the kitchen pantry refrigerator sits a return air grate. Crawling inside leads directly into the living room wall cavity, dropping out behind the entertainment center.
- The Under-Porch Trench: Crawl beneath the front wooden porch decking to cross from the front lawn to the driveway completely undetected by porch security lights.
2. The Farm: Silo catwalks & Hay Chutes
- The Haydrop Chute: Inside the Red Barn, an old wooden chute drops down from the high hayloft directly into the empty grain trough outside. Dropping loot down the chute bypasses the crowded ground floor entirely.
- The Windmill Cable Line: Scaling the wooden windmill allows you to jump onto the telephone line wires stretching across the cow pasture. Raccoons can balance-beam across the wire to drop directly on top of the barn roof.
- The Drainage Culvert: A stone culvert runs beneath the main farm gravel driveway, allowing raccoons to transport items beneath John's patrol van without crossing open dirt roads.
| Map Location | Shortcut Name | Required Action | Bypassed Choke Point | Max Item Size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Suburban House | Gutter Downspout | Climb vertical pipe | Front door & driveway | Single-Hand Loot |
| Suburban House | Kitchen HVAC Ducts | Pry open grate | Guard dog & kitchen floor | Pocket & Hand Loot |
| Suburban House | Master Skylight | Drop through window | Main staircase | Bulky (Drop only) |
| The Farm | Barn Haydrop Chute | Slide down chute | Barn ground-floor patrols | Bulky / Hand Loot |
| The Farm | Silo Wire Walk | Tightrope wire walk | Electric cattle fence | Pocket Loot |
| The Farm | Irrigation Culvert | Squeeze under road | Perimeter truck patrol | Hand Loot |
Advanced Stealth Maneuvers
In addition to fixed architectural shortcuts, you can create dynamic stealth corridors using these raccoon tactics:
The Fence-Rail Traverse
Rather than running along the muddy grass where footsteps make noise and leave visible tracks, jump onto the narrow top rail of wooden boundary fences. Moving along fence tops is 100% silent and keeps your raccoon elevated above roaming guard dogs and ground-level bear traps.
The Laundry Chute Express
In two-story homes, look for the brass laundry chute door in the second-floor hallway. Tossing stolen jewelry, silver teapots, and wallets down the chute sends them shooting straight into the basement laundry basket, where a teammate can collect them in complete safety.
The Trash Can Screen
If you must cross an open street illuminated by streetlights, kick over a row of metal trash cans. The tumbling cans create physical rolling cover that breaks line-of-sight cones from approaching patrol vehicles.
Escaping Pursuit: The Double-Back Duct
When John is in active sprint pursuit, running in a straight line will result in a net toss. To break pursuit using stealth routes:
- Turn a sharp corner into a room with a ventilation register.
- Dive into the grate and immediately turn 90 degrees inside the wall duct.
- John will swing his net at the entrance of the vent or strike the metal grate with his boot, failing to reach you.
- Crawl through the duct and exit behind him into the hallway to make your clean escape while he investigates the empty grate.
Pro Tip
Equip the Feather Fedora or Nightcap when navigating ducts. These hats silence the hollow "tin-can" rattling sounds that raccoons make when walking across sheet metal air ducts, allowing you to crawl directly above guards without alerting them.
